Opening visits of 96 and 60 from Gerwyn Price on his throw go unpunished, such are the nerves of both.

A 137 from Luke Humphries gives Price a tap, who responds with 140.

At finishes, Price gets 105 but cannot get the tops tops ending.

Humphries is chasing 70. Treble 18 is perfect, but he splits doubles eight and four.

Price is back for 60, he finds 20 and puts two over the bar for tops.

Humphries needs double two for the match and after a low first dart, takes it on the second attempt for a 6-5 win.

    Another thriller.

  2. Humphries takes Price to last-leg deciderpublished at 20:28 GMT 5 February

    Humphries 5-5 Price

And again, Luke Humphries fires back!

    A 180 and 100 in back-to-back visits leaves six darts at 161 for 5-5 and a last-leg decider.

The first three are an excellent 137 shot that buys three darts at double 12.

Dart four pins it. We go the distance.

  3. Price closes in on winpublished at 20:26 GMT 5 February

    Humphries 4-5 Price

This is such a tight contest, the margin for error is almost non-existent.

Gerwyn Price gets six at 136 for a hold and the first three leave him a full visit at tops.

Back for it, Price is over on dart one but lands dart two for a 5-4 lead.

Luke Humphries has to hold in the next and then break.

  4. Humphries levels for a fourth timepublished at 20:25 GMT 5 February

    Humphries 4-4 Price

But Luke Humphries is never out for long!

A 180 to start back on his throw wrestles control of the leg and he gets six darts at 84. The first three leave 32, but a 140 from Gerwyn Price leaves him waiting for 40.

Humphries splits the 16s, goes wildly wide at the eights but then rushes a third dart straight into the bed.

    Eight straight holds. 4-4.

    Humphries 3-4 Price

In a game this tight, a bounce out was the last thing Gerwyn Price needed at the 19s.

Fortunately for Price, Luke Humphries gets a bounce out himself at the very next visit.

Price is down to a finish first. He sees off 97 in three, pinning it at double 12.

    "COME ON!" Price screams.

This is a proper back-and-forth encounter and Luke Humphries is first to a finish at 108.

19 and a treble there leave him a dart at double 16 for the lot.

Cool Hand pins it but there is little reaction. On we go at 3-3 after a very cool finish.

  9. Price holds once morepublished at 20:21 GMT 5 February

A 140 from Gerwyn Price gets him down to a 161 out, but 139 from Luke Humphries sets up a 170 chance.

A single three scuppers Price instantly, but he does come back for 84 as Humphries is unsuccessful.

Treble 20, double 12. "Come on!"

A classic Gezzy Price scream at that finish!

    Humphries 2-2 Price

There have not been any breaks of throw in this match and Luke Humphries is making sure that continues here, buying at least six darts at a 79 out.

Humphries only needs three, pinning tops at the first time of asking.

  12. Price takes out 114 to hold throwpublished at 20:17 GMT 5 February

    Humphries 1-2 Price

A good contest and after nine darts each, just two points split them in the low 200s.

In visit four, Price leaves 114 for a hold and Humphries is at 108.

Treble 20 and 14 leave a dart at tops for Price, who after comically dropping the darts, pins the 20s for a hold of throw.

  13. Humphries levels with 11-darterpublished at 20:16 GMT 5 February

Commanding from Luke Humphries to start the night on his throw.

  15. Price takes opening leg v Humphriespublished at 20:15 GMT 5 February

    Humphries 0-1 Price

Gerwyn Price is not someone you would immediately assume has never won a Premier League title before.

He starts the night by getting down to 107 after nine darts, helped by a first visit of 180.

Price leaves 24 and will come back as Luke Humphries cannot get 164 to go.

The double 12 is properly split, but Price pins the sixes for 1-0.

  16. Gwaaanpublished at 20:13 GMT 5 February

    Humphries v Price

    Ian Mitchelmore

Gerwyn Price has just given his customary 'Gwaaan' roar after his walk-on song.

The Welshman said he would stick to Vanilla Ice's 1990 classic Ice Ice Baby, but he reverted to Gerry Cinnamon's Discoland.

Even with that song booming, his roar could still be heard at the back of the arena.

    Humphries v Price

Now onto the bottom half of tonight's draw, where the winner will face either Jonny Clayton or Gian van Veen in tonight's final.

Both of these men were on the receiving end of defeat to Luke Littler over the weekend, but at least one of them will go further than him tonight.

The Iceman to throw first, game on!

Farming, running a chip shop and hoping for a Welsh rugby revival occupy Gerwyn Price's thoughts at present.

But sitting at the forefront of the 40-year-old's mind is a tournament he is yet to win: the Premier League.

The Welshman will compete in the showpiece event for the eighth time this year and remains determined to lift the trophy for the first time.

"I want to win as many majors as I can and win the ones that I haven't won, and this is one of them," he said.

"Fingers crossed it's going to be a good season for me, [hopefully I'll] make the play-offs and hopefully lift it [the trophy]."

  19. Saudi rematchpublished at 20:10 GMT 5 February

    Humphries v Price

    Ian Mitchelmore
BBC Sport Wales at Utilita Arena, Newcastle

It's a rematch of the recent Saudi Arabia Darts Masters quarter-final.

On that occasion, it was Gerwyn Price who secured a narrow 6-5 victory over Cool Hand, although neither player was at the peak of their powers in that match.

I'm expecting much more from the pair tonight.

The third of tonight's quarter-finals in Newcastle sees defending Premier League champion Luke Humphries take on Gerwyn Price.

Humphries reached the finals of last weekend's Winmau World Masters where he lost to Luke Littler in the final. Littler beat Price in the semi-final to set up that win over Humphries.

Although Cool Hand is the defending Premier League champion, he only recorded two wins against The Iceman during their five matches in last season's campaign.

Tonight is the 30th meeting between the two. Price has 15 wins, Humphries has 13 and the other ended in a draw.
