Anderson 1-1 Scutt (3-1)
Image source, PA MediaBoth men are averaging well into triple figures in this second set, this is another match of world class quality.
Scutt however misses twice at doubles, giving Anderson a sniff... a snort!
He cleans up an 80 checkout to level the match.
Anderson 0-1 Scutt (2-1)
Both men are revving now - successive 180s on the oche. Six so far in the match, three apiece.
Lovely darts from Anderson, an 11-dart leg capped up with D14.
Anderson 0-1 Scutt (1-1)
Connor Scutt hasn't quite managed to carry on his form into the second set - until now! His second maximum of the match.
Scutt, despite an Anderson 180, has three darts at D16 - and needs only one.
Anderson 0-1 Scutt (1-0)
Gary Anderson leads us off in set two.
It's a sharp start from the ex-champion, including a 180 on his second visit.
He has six darts at a finish, rounded off with tops.
Plenty of those in attendance at the Ally Pally this afternoon were getting into the festive spirit, including singer Olly Murs decked out in a Christmas jumper.

Gary Anderson landing only one of eight checkout chances in that opening set.
He needs to step up and sharpish.
Anderson 0-1 Scutt (1-3)
Surely we aren't about to see another seed bite the dust?
The winner faces 19th-ranked Jermaine Wattimena in round three.
Anderson 0-1 Scutt (1-3)
A good counter-attack by Connor Scutt, landing the first 180 of the match.
He can win the set with a finish of 164, but is well off it to leave Anderson needing 60... not taken!
And Scutt cleans up to steal the opening set.
Anderson 0-0 Scutt (1-2)
Connor Scutt will win the opening set by holding throw here.
He can't reel in the Big Fish, but will clean up if he lands 110.
Nothing doing however - and Gary Anderson breaks back with tops.
Anderson 0-0 Scutt (0-2)
Image source, PA MediaA few early nerves from Gary Anderson, failing to clean up a checkout of 25 then busting when aiming for D8.
And Connor Scutt punishes the veteran!
Anderson 0-0 Scutt (0-1)
A more sedate opening here, including a visit of 39 by Anderson - but he follows it up with a maximum.
Scutt however is first to a finish, 78 - cleaned up with tops.
Anderson 0-0 Scutt (0-0)
Onto the second match of the night. Connor Scutt has already beaten one Ally Pally icon in Simon Whitlock in round one - can he had Gary Anderson to his hit list?
Scutt will throw first.
One of the all time great matches. Both players performing at brilliant levels. Big scores, big checkouts. What a joy to watch.
Kevin, Suffolk
Absolutely brilliant game. Best of the tournament so far.

Anderson v Scutt
Connor Scutt, the world number 50 who has never gone beyond the second round at the Worlds, is the latest underdog looking to cause a major Ally Pally upset.
Gary Anderson, two-time champion and 14th seed, stands in his way.

Gary was tested in the first round, but it was a really solid performance. It's the kind of performance we've come to expect but, for me, in the TV tournaments over the past 12-18 months he hasn't produced what we have seen he can produce on the floor.
We know he can do it, but you have to go back to 2018 for the last time he picked up a TV title.
In Connor Scutt, I see a player on the up. If he can find something near his A-game, he will ask questions of Gary Anderson.
Result: Noppert 2-3 Hood
Wayne Mardle
Former World Matchplay finalist on Sky Sports
Justin has got some confidence and, under pressure, his composure is way beyond his experience.
Danny Noppert - the 102 to not lose 3-0, the 157 was utterly ridiculous to save the match, the 127 - it was all becoming ridiculous.
It was a match that will live long in the memory.
If Luke Littler or Luke Humphries are doing that, that's why they're world champions. That was as good as you can play darts.
Result: Noppert 2-3 Hood
Both men averaged more than 102, both were above 42% on the checkouts, and 19 maximums were thrown - 11 by Justin Hood.
Result: Noppert 2-3 Hood
Justin Hood, speaking to Sky Sports after beating Danny Noppert in a sudden-death leg to reach round three:
"It was a good game, I knew it would be because Danny is a class player. I don't worry about the pressure, I just throw the darts and if it's good enough, it's good enough. Tonight it was."
I don't mean to say Justin Hood's win there was unexpected, but he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.
