The powerplay ends not with a bang but a whimper.

Namibia take two runs and lose a needless wicket in it.

That one has taken everyone by surprise, I don't even think the fielders appealed. Nobody actually knew what was going on there.

It was an incredibly lazy bit of batting, but maybe he thought it would be an easy single because Pakistan are sitting deep on the ring.

It was an incredibly good take for Saim Ayub, but a sloppy bit of cricket really.

Lazy running from Nicol Loftie-Eaton there and he pays the price!

He looks for quick run after slapping Saim Ayub straight to the fielder cover.

And the Namibia batter ends up well short of the crease as Salman Ali Agha collects cleanly and fires it back to his bowler.

  5. Nam 38-1published at 5 overs

New Namibia batter Nicol Loftie-Eaton opens his account with a glorious drive through the covers.

But the penultimate over of the powerplay ends with Pakistan wresting back some control.

Jan Frylinck just backed away and showed Salman Mirza his stumps there.

He probably should've walked across that shot a little bit more though, to get more in line and use that angle to hit off the leg side.

A disappointing end for him - and the partnership is broken.

Namibia's momentum, however, is halted by Salman Mirza!

Mirza angles in on the stumps and Jan Frylinck misses his shot completely to lose his wicket.

Pakistan finally get the breakthrough they were desperate for.

Namibia are ticking along quite nicely here. I know they are only going at just over seven an over, but they are creating a partnership and making Pakistan think about some bowling changes.

Hopefully they can keep this momentum going.

  9. Nam 32-0published at 4 overs

    Target 200

Louren Steenkamp goes for a big one again and it is just short of the rope again!

This time, the Namibia opener picks up a carrom ball from Saim Ayub, gets down on one knee and slog-sweeps him.

Another boundary from Steenkamp off the final ball makes it nine runs in that over for Namibia.

  10. Nam 22-0published at 3 overs

    Target 200

Eight more runs added to the scoreboard, including a majestic shot from Louren Steenkamp which goes one bounce over the rope at long-on.

Namibia needed a good start and they've got that here - they'll now hope these duo can build on this.

How crucial could this century from Sahibzada Farhan be? He has stood up when his team needed him most.

The easiest part about chasing is that the game dictates what you need to do and how quickly you have to score.

There are different ways you can manipulate the ball; you can run hard, try to hit sixes or take four dot balls and then two sixes. It is up to them to work out the best way to do it. For me, the best thing to do is create a partnership.

Generally, if you're chasing 200 runs then you have to get a good flier in the powerplay to ease the pressure off everyone.

It was shaping up to be a fine over from Salman Mirza with only one run from the first five deliveries.

Then the Pakistan medium pacer gives away a wide before Jan Frylinck pounces, sending the ball towards deep third for his first boundary.

When you look at the make-up of the Pakistan team, they are very spin-dominant and that is going to play a big part in the middle.

That's especially the case because it is a day game. The wicket could get slower and spin might be harder to hit, so they have to attack this powerplay.

  15. dropped catch

    Nam 9-0 | Target 200

Everything is happening in this over.

First, Louren Steenkamp tires to pull a shortish delivery from Faheem Ashraf which clips the batter's shoulder and results in a smart diving stop from Salman Mirza at short third.

Then Jan Frylinck swivels looking for a big one through the leg side and it goes up a long way in the air but Mohammad Nawaz can't hold on to the catch.

Namibia are going to have to be brilliant to chase these 200 runs. Anything over 180 runs means you need the perfect day as a batting unit really.

They are going to need someone to have an innings of a lifetime out there. It is going to be a tough challenge for them.

  17. 6 runs

    Nam 6-0published at 0.3 overs

How about that to open your account!

Louren Steenkamp negotiates Faheem Ashraf's first two deliveries without a run, but the third ball is overpitched and it is hoicked straight down the ground by the Namibia opener for a maximum.

  18. Nam 0-0published at 0.1 overs

But up first for Pakistan is the pace of Faheem Ashraf.

Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck open the batting for Namibia, who will be hoping to bow out on a high.

The players are back out in the middle now for the second half of this contest.

Let's find out what the Namibia batters have in store for us but Pakistan's spinners would not make their life any easy.

  20. What's at stake today?published at 11:13 GMT 18 February

Sahabzada Farhan might have played the most important innings of his career so far with Pakistan's spot in the Super 8s on the line here.

A win today would see them progress to the next phase of the tournament and knock out the Netherlands in the process.

The Super 8s would then be complete, with India, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka already claiming their spots.
