    A big blow.

That was wide, it should've been drilled through the covers really. She's just somehow scooped it straight to the fielder.

We know how good Nat Sciver-Brunt is but she would've liked a bit more of a platform to come in with.

Sharp hands from Georgia Voll and Amy Jones is heading back to the pavilion in the second over!

Jones flashed Lucy Hamilton's second delivery to backward point.

England are hugely improved but Australia feel like another level up. Hope I’m wrong but hard to see anything but an Aussie win unless England are perfect plus 10%.

    Between 170-180 would be nice.

It's going to be a real challenge against a bowling attack of this quality.

  5. Eng 7-0published at 1 overs

Amy Jones gets England up and running at the second time of asking, edging to the boundary for four.

It was nearly an excellent stop from Phoebe Litchfield but her double-save is in vain with the ball dribbling into the rope.

Beth Mooney stands right up to the stumps for Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who is fortunate to see an inside edge drop short of the wicketkeeper.

Australia have dominated the powerplay with both bat and ball so far in this competition. Their economy rate of 6.2 and run rate of 9.2 in the first six overs are the best of any of the 10 sides.

It's massive for these two England openers.

Neither of them played in the 2017 final - Danni Wyatt-Hodge was in the squad but didn't play.

Australia are going to keep it simple and bowl very straight, and use the slope. The goal for England is keep wickets in hand in the powerplay, but they've got to be positive in the powerplay.

They'll have to take some risks.

But I am more confident than I have ever been as an England fan.

And we're under way at Lord's!

Amy Jones leaves a wider delivery from Kim Garth, opening the bowling for Australia, well alone.

When you are playing against the best team in the world, if they give you the slightest opening, you have to take it. Charge through the door.

For England, it's going to be tough but they have got to hold their nerve if Australia do give them those chances.

England are going to have to judge very quickly how much is enough on this pitch.

They don't want to go too hard too early.

Right, we're only a few minutes away from the start of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup final.

Remember, England are batting first after Australia won the toss and elected to bowl.

Time for a vote. Thumbs up if you think England will win, thumbs down for Australia.

It's an emotional day, you've got to allow yourself as a player to soak all that in and feel it.

You've just got to switch back on as soon as the anthems are done.

It might never happen for them again so I hope that every player from England and Australia takes in every second of it.

England have surprised me with how cohesive they have been. Yes, they had an easier group but they didn't wobble where other teams did.

They came through the semi-final without a flinch.

But this is the big test, against the team that has had the better of you so many times in the past.

There's little to separate the two sides in their overall T20I head-to-head, with Australia winning 22 of their 45 previous meetings and England 20.

Australia have been the dominant side since 2020, including winning the past three meetings, but England came out on top when the sides last met at Lord's, winning by five wickets (DLS) in the 2023 Women's Ashes.

England haven't beaten Australia in a knockout match since the semi-finals of the 2009 Women's T20 World Cup.
