India go for two. There's a direct hit and a half-hearted umpire review here as Tilak Varma dives in.

One of these two has to bat deep.

  3. Ind 105-3published at 11 overs

A loopy delivery from Adil Rashid is sent to the deep mid-wicket boundary. It splits the fielders, despite a great effort from Tom Banton.

He dives to his left to partially stop the ball. It trickles back towards him and Banton's body is touching the boundary foam as he flicks it back.

    Great effort, though.

  4. Ind 100-3published at 10.3 overs

Adil Rashid fields well off his bowling, diving down to his left. After two dot balls, a single down the ground brings up the India 100.

It started off well for England with this fine catch from Tom Banton. But India came roaring back.

  6. drinks break

    Ind 99-3published at 10 overs

Shreyas Iyer runs two and Tilak Varma breaks his bat coming back for the second. After a short break in play and a change of bat, India work it through the gaps for five singles.

    Time for drinks.

I've touted Sam Curran as a potential Test captain. He's been overlooked by this management, but who knows how long this management will be around.

I cannot think of a seam-bowling all-rounder other than Curran and I think England need one to balance their [Test] side.

The glaring weakness in this England team is the fast bowling. This bowling line-up aside from the spinners is that of an Associate nation.

  9. Ind 92-3published at 9 overs

Tilak Varma is the new man in for India and almost pulls his first delivery to Adil Rashid at fine-leg - the ball falling just short.

Five singles and a wicket for Sam Curran.

A brilliant delivery to get rid of Abhishek Sharma and a big wicket for England.

  11. wicket

Abhishek Sharma lbw b Curran 59 (Ind 88-3)

How wrong we are. Decision overturned!

It was a smart leg-cutter from Sam Curran and although at first glance it looked like it would be going down leg, it's hitting the middle of leg stump.

Much-needed wicket for England. Fantastic knock from Abhishek Sharma.

I think it's probably missing leg, but the slower ball deceived Abhishek .

  13. England reviewpublished at 8.1 overs

    Ind 88-2

At the toss, Harry Brooks spoke a lot about the experience he will lean on in this match. He brings on Sam Curran to steady the ship.

Abhishek Sharma plays too early at a slower ball and is struck on the back pad. Given not out and England don't look overly convinced but it looks close.

  14. Ind 87-2published at 8 overs

Shreyas Iyer cuts through backward point for another boundary, before Abhishek Sharma slaps Will Jacks down the ground for six more.

I don't want to give any spoilers on what is happening out in Atlanta. But the early signs are that this could pan out to be a disappointing night for England fans.

  15. Ind 72-2published at 7 overs

A tad too short from Adil Rashid and Shreyas Iyer plays across the line for four, despite a diving effort from Tom Banton.

    Eleven off the over.

A powerplay of two halves. After three overs India had 15 runs on the board; their second lowest score at this stage when batting first in a T20I in England. By the end of the powerplay, India were 61-2; their second highest powerplay score when batting first in England.

    It's been a superb knock.

Since the two wickets, he's been absolutely brilliant.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Sharmapublished at 6.2 overs

    Ind 63-2

Harry Brook turns to Adil Rashid to calm things down, as Abhishek Sharma nudges a single to reach his 50 off just 20 balls.

  19. Ind 61-2published at 6 overs

Will Jacks bowls too short and Abhishek Sharma's eyes light up as he whacks it into the leg side for four.

Sharma moves to 49 off 19 deliveries with a single down the ground.

    Some umbrellas are going up...
