    With all the excitement elsewhere, news of a third wicket at Cheltenham.

    Miles Hammond is on the walk, he's hit on the pads by Tom Taylor and the finger goes up.

    Taylor breaks this partnership of 113 with Ollie Price now on 51 at the other end.

    Hammond cannot make it to the close but he has played a very good hand for his side.

    Kiran Carlson has just been rapped on the glove by Ben Mike and immediately has to take himself away from the crease, clearly having felt that.

    The Glamorgan captain is currently being seen to by the medical staff. Looked a sore one.

    Saif Zaib and George Bartlett are running off, having been called in by captain Luke Procter.

    Zaib ends on 55 and Bartlett 32 not out to go with his first innings 92.

    Lancashire will have a tricky 11 overs to bat as they begin a nominal chase of 446.

    Hants 106-3 v Yorkshire (target 278)

    A quality day's play comes to a close at the Utilita Bowl.

    Yorkshire started the day 135-5 but managed to make 301 in total, setting the hosts a very tough looking 278 to win on a difficult pitch to bat on.

    Before Hampshire walked out, you probably would have had Yorkshire down as slight favourites but the home side did well to end the day's play 106-3. Part time off-spinner Adam Lyth picked up the wicket of Jake Lehmann in the evening session as the 38-year-old Yorkie opener celebrated with glee.

    It really is all to play for on the final day tomorrow of this Division One basement battle with a result almost guaranteed.

  7. Ten-wicket haul for Olly Stone

    Lawes b Stone 1 (Surrey 127-8 v Notts - target 329)

    An amazing effort by Olly Stone - he has a ten-wicket haul in the match.

    He clatters the off-stump of Tom Lawes for just one. This has been a procession this evening and, aside from Ollie Pope, who is 73 not out, Surrey's batters have simply been no match for Notts' quicks.

    Colin Ingram looks to defend Ajaz Patel, but he finds the leading edge. It pops up and it is an excellent reactionary grab by Hamza Shaikh at short leg.

    The umpires consult to ensure everything is above board which replays confirm.

    THREE WICKETS IN FOUR BALLS FOR BEN STOKES!

    Moments after surviving the hat-trick ball, Stokes gets Ben Aitchison and it's a wafty looking stroke with no real footwork as the ball flies to David Bedingham at first slip.

    The South African takes a good catch above his head. Extraordinary. Stokes is currently on a triple-wicket maiden first over in.

    England should have a look at this lad!

    Max Holden plays down the wrong line and Ekansh Singh makes a mess of middle and off-stump.

    Singh has taken both wickets to fall and Kent will be big favourites now.

    It looks pretty plumb on the replay - Anuj Dal strapped bang in front.

    Five slips meet Ben Aitchison, who does well to dig out Stokes' hat-trick ball, defending into the off-side. Superb entertainment on a Saturday evening.

    It's a really loose shot from Brooke Guest who can only spoon one up in the air straight to Graham Clark at gully who takes a simple catch.

    For the second time in this match, Stokes gets a wicket with his first ball into the attack.

    Too short by Sean Hunt, who looks a bit tired, and Michael Booth square cuts for four.

    Booth edges past third slip later in the over for another boundary.

    Warwickshire need another 36 to win.

    Liam Patterson-White joins in the fun with a wicket of his own!

    Jordan Clark looks to prod a delivery back down the track to the bowler but the ball does not get up and, not for the first time, a Surrey batter is clean bowled.

    Ollie Pope, 67 not out, cannot believe it - and not for the first time today has he reacted in such a dejected manner.

    Hants 100-3 v Yorkshire (target 278)

    Tom Prest pushes a single into the offside to bring up three figures for Hampshire.

    Despite Hampshire's batting problems this season, and a couple of glaring errors in this second innings, they remain a decent shout to win this game.

    178 runs to win. Seven wickets needed for Yorkshire. It's still in the balance.

    Lancashire v Northants 273-4 - lead by 420

    This is a great time to bat at Old Trafford. The sun is out, the home side are demoralised and Saif Zaib is cashing in.

    He completes a 41-ball half-century with a reverse sweep off Noman Ali.

    Northants lead by 420, they surely don't need too many more.

  18. Close of play of Taunton

    Somerset 459 v Essex 158 & 314-3

    When Essex were 82-3 during the morning session, it looked like Somerset would be celebrating an innings victory before close of play.

    Charlie Allison and Matt Critchley had other ideas, though, and have battled away for 71 overs to add 187 and clear their first-innings deficit.

    Despite a pitch offering turn for Jack Leach, Allison has played some superb strokes to reach an unbeaten 105, including two sixes and 13 fours.

    Critchley was content to keep him company but off-drives Archie Vaughan for four in the day's final over to move to 76 not out from 215 balls and put Essex three runs in front.

    Notts have a sixth Surrey wicket - and Olly Stone now has nine in the match.

    He bowls short to Josh Blake, who seeks to hook into the legside, but he succeeds in only finding Ben Martindale at midwicket.

    It is another step towards victory for Notts, who still have more than 200 runs to play with and are now needing four wickets.
