We're just over 24 hours away from Tyson Fury's latest return to boxing and, following on from his comments at yesterday's news conference, the Briton seems pretty confident that he will be back in the world title picture pretty soon.

Oleksandr Usyk, who has beaten Fury twice, holds the WBA (Super), WBC and IBF titles, with Fabio Wardley in possession of the WBO strap.

If both of those still hold the belts later in the year or even into 2027, can Fury beat them?

  4. Fury 'needed time away'published at 18:17 BST 10 April

    Fury v Makhmudov

How many of us really believed that Tyson Fury was retired when he said he was walking away from the sport for the fifth time after losing to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024?

Fury says he was "sick of boxing" and "needed time away" but ultimately was drawn back in by his love of pugilism.

Just like yesterday, it is pretty chaotic here. Around 100 fans are gathered outside the Pelligon in Canary Wharf to greet fighters and boxing folk as they enter the venue.

There were cries of 'bosh' as Johnny Fisher and his dad, Big John, waltzed in earlier, followed by butchered renditions of 'Let's Get Ready to Rumble' when legendary Master of Ceremonies Michael Buffer entered.

Hello and thanks for joining us for part two of our three-day run of live texts building up to Saturday's heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Today it's the weigh-ins and it should be a much swifter affair than yesterday's news conference when Fury - returning to centre stage after a 15 month absence - rambled on for a fair bit.

Fury has never been one to sport a ripped torso and bulging muscles, but it will be interesting to see what shape he's in after a lengthy period outside of the ropes.
