    Benn v Prograis

Conor Benn on his weight cut: "I could have made 147lb. Until you've done it you don't know. People said I couldn't walk around at 175lb for two years and come down but I've done it.

"I stayed in the gym after the (Chris) Eubank win ready to come back down and challenge for a world title."

On preparing to face a southpaw: "It's tricky at first and takes a while to get used to. It's my job to go in there and prove I'm at the level.

"I've been sparring middleweights all camp and I've been putting them over in the gym. I'm excited to be fighting someone my size for once."

    Benn v Prograis

Regis Prograis: "It does come down to levels. I'm a former two-time champion [at light-welterweight].

"I take nothing away from Conor Benn but I'm the best fighter. People try to make out he's a big guy but we're the same size.

"I don't know what they trained for in camp but I look in his eyes, he's ready, I'm ready and I'll bring out things he hasn't seen before."

On his future plans: "If Conor wants to face Ryan Garcia that's on him but I'm going to beat him and then I can call my shots."

On rumours of a suffering injury in training camp: "I am perfectly fine. I'm here to fight and that's it. I feel like it's a plot to get in my place."

Conor Benn spent 2025 on a side mission with bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr and stepped up two divisions to fight twice at middleweight.

Benn has campaigned most of his career at welterweight and intends to return to that division to pursue a world title shot.

But this weekend's clash with Regis Prograis is at a catchweight of 10st 10lb (68kg) - 3lb above the welterweight limit - as Benn eases back into his former frame.

The Briton weighed 11st 5lb (72kg) for rematch with Eubank in November and was 10st 7lb (67kg) when he last competed at welterweight against Peter Dobson in February 2024.

Regis Prograis has campaigned at light-welterweight for the majority of his career and has reigned as the WBA and WBC champion.

The American did have one fight at light-middleweight in 2013 when he weighed a career-heavy 10st 7lb (67kg).

Prograis last fought in August when he beat Joseph Diaz at light-welterweight and was 10st 1lb (64kg).

This weekend's bout against Benn is at a catchweight of 10st 10lb (68kg) - 4lb above the welterweight limit.

The big stage weigh-in is mostly just for the cameras - the undercard guys actually did their official checks behind closed doors earlier today.

Conor Benn tipped the scales at 10st 10lb (68kg), while Regis Prograis was a bit lighter at 10st 8lb (67kg).

Benn is usually a welterweight (10st 7lb), but this one is a catchweight at 10st 10lb after his recent detour up to middleweight for the Chris Eubank Jr fights.

Prograis definitely looked like the smaller man out there, he’s a former light-welterweight moving up.

Benn looked a little bit drawn in the face, but he’s adamant the weight cut was a breeze and says he could've hit the welterweight limit if he really had to.

Tyson Fury saying he's still the best in heavyweight boxing even though in his last 3 fights he's lost to Usyk twice and struggled against a UFC fighter. Too many in the division now that can beat him. I'm on a Makhmudov win and Fury can retire for good.

    Fury v Makhmudov

To say Arslanbek Makhmudov has been relaxed this week is putting it mildly. During yesterday's news conference, he spent most of the time scrolling through his phone while Fury was mid-flow on one of his legendary rants.

The best bit was Makhmudov casually mentioning that he wrestled a bear as part of his camp.

"I don’t want to try that anymore because it was scary," he admitted, which is fair enough. Then. just to top it off, he hoisted Fury into the air for a hug during the face-off. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about his vibe so far.
