In the last conversation, Munro used another popular Gaelic expression for good bye. This one is very informal - it sounds like the English word "cheers" - probably because this expression came from the Gaelic:


Tìoraidh
bye / cheers / cheerio

You will often hear Gaels combining this word with other words for emphasis, for example, Munro combined "Tìoraidh" with the phrase an-dràsta (now):

Tìoraidh an-dràsta
Bye for now!

He could have also used the phrase ma-tha! (then):

Tìoraidh ma-tha!
Cheerio then!
