The Council House is indisputably the most magnificent
Council building in a city which is full of elegant and imposing
architecture.
This splendid building, whose 200 foot high dome can be seen for
miles, represents a late resurgence of the civic pride which characterised
the end of the Victorian era.
Nottingham's Council House was completed in 1929, and it remains
a source of great pride to the people of Nottingham.
It has been the setting for many spectacular occasions - royalty,
statesmen and women and stars of stage and screen have been entertained
there, and both the F.A. and European cups have been held aloft
from its balcony.
