The RACD's journey is depicted here in a map originally produced by Tony Lord, author of The Czar's British Squadron. The red arrows show the outbound journey and the green arrows the homebound route.

Recently found a photo album of my fathers of his Russian experiences, he was with the Armoured Car Division, he was from Norfolk where many of Locker Lamsons men were enlisted. He died in 1960, and was a major in WW2 As I am a keen philatelist and collect WW1 naval postal history, I am following up any 'leads' on the ACD. For instance one or two photos show my father on board HMS Gabriel, a Destroyer Leader of the Lightfoot Class, but I can find no mention of this ship as having been involved, presumably in the transportation of the ACD men and machines.. However I have only just started on this, but found your site very interesting, and some of the photos look similar to some in fathers album. Thanks very much. May come back again another day Kind regards and a Happy Christmas - just relaxing after the family invasion
