Amy Hunt wins second gold medal at European Championships

Great Britain's Amy Hunt has won her second gold medal of the 2026 European Athletics Championships.

She stormed to victory in the women's 200m final, setting a season's best time.

Team-mate Dina Asher-Smith also made it onto the podium, finishing third to take bronze.

Speaking after the race, Hunt said she wanted to "be iconic" and become the first athlete to win four European gold medals in the same tournament.

Hunt won the 100m final on Monday, securing Great Britain's first gold of the Championships.

She followed that up with another gold in the 200m final on Thursday, setting a season's best of 22.19 seconds.

After the race, Hunt explained: "This is becoming a magical week and one I will remember for the rest of my life."

However, with two more races to go at the Championships, she added that she wasn't done yet.

Hunt is still set to compete in the women's and mixed 4x100m relay events at the Championships, and said that there will be "no celebrations" until Sunday night.

Dina Asher-Smith - who previously won 200m gold at the 2016 and 2018 European Championships - was beaten to silver by Ireland's Rhasidat Adeleke.

Asher-Smith finished just 0.01 seconds behind Adeleke, who set a new national record.
