The broadcaster and wife of UKIP Welsh Assembly member Neil Hamilton, who lives in north Wiltshire, sparked outrage on Twitter with her comments.
Muscular Dystrophy UK said it opposed "prejudice and discrimination" and had severed all links with Mrs Hamilton.
But she said the tweet was not intended to equate Muslim women with the violent white supremacist organisation.

Organisers of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta had to rethink one of their most popular events due to bad weather this weekend.
On Saturday they staged a "naked night glow", with the burners going to the beat of the music as it was too wet to inflate the balloons.
Earlier, more than 100 different shapes and sizes managed to lift off as part of the event's 40th anniversary celebrations.
