    Coventry is a sea of sky blue - from all the shirts, flags and smoke.

    Thousands of fans are cheering their heroes on as the parade winds its way to its finish, at Hearsall Common - before everyone decamps to the War Memorial Park.

    The bus parade is well on its way and, on the route, three-year-old English cocker spaniel Biffy has already secured his paw-sition.

    Dave and TS are both recipients of our CWR bucket hats - both season ticket holders and waxed lyrically about 1987, the year of the famous FA Cup win, and the journey it’s taken for the Sky Blues to make it back to the big time.

    “Fantastic day for the city, for the football club, for everybody," they said. "Whether you’re a football fan or not, it’s just great to be here celebrating our fantastic team.”

  7. 'Can’t imagine how it will get any louder!'published at 13:30 BST 4 May

    We've heard from Dave Lumb, who is on the route and excitement is building for the Coventry bus: "People just starting to line Moseley Avenue in Coventry in anticipation of the bus arriving.

    "The droning from the vuvuzelas is excruciating. Lots of excitement though!"

    While Nat Craig at the Wallace pub says: "Everyone is geared up and the horns are blowing, you can barely hear yourself think the atmosphere is incredible now!

    "All that’s needed is the bus. Can’t imagine how it will get any louder at the Wallace!"

    Will Oelrich is also there for CWR and says: "Word has got to the people at The Wallace that it's ahead of schedule.

    "The streets are lined in Sky Blues shirts, scarfs and flares… the roadblocks have began and the fans are beginning to feel the excitement!"

    Fifteen-year-old Coventry fan Jaden is here at the Hollybush pub getting the free "Jack Rudoni" haircut thanks to Coventry City hairdresser Musaab Somobwane.

    The barber is known for regularly cutting the hair of Coventry City players.

    The city is beginning to get busy as fans line the streets, eager to secure a spot along the parade route.

    Karen Akerman, Mark Akerman and Pauline Sivorn are among them.

    "I have been following them 55 years but this is the first year I've had a season ticket - What a time to be alive," they said.

    Here's how that looked, at about 13:00 - the party is under way!

    For those who are looking out for the bus in the city, it appears to be about 15 minutes ahead of schedule - but that could change as it goes on, be aware.

    Adam Blinco is on Holbrook Lane on his way to see the parade from the Unicorn social club.

    The season ticket holder says: “what a season, couldn’t ask for anymore!”

    He’s planning to then get to the concert in the park.

    While Bilkiss Navsarka and nephew Haroon Mota are waiting the parade outside the DKYC Cafe on Holbrook Lane.

    They say it’s an historical moment, Haroon adding that it’s an important day for the city and he was at the last game Coventry played at their old ground. Highfield Road.

    We’ve been open here at the Craftsman for not yet an hour and the flocks of Sky Blue clad masses are beginning to filter through the doors.

    Landlord Paul here is hoping that he and his bar staff “keep on pouring” throughout the day especially in the run up to the passing through of the players in a couple of hours.

    Fans Kelvin and Daniel will be heading over to the War Memorial Park hopefully in time for the 15:00 cut off, in what will be an emotional day:

    “At lot of today will be the enjoyment of such an achievement. But we’ll also be sparing a thought for those who aren’t here to experience the festivities," they said.

    We also have four generations of Coventry City fans here at the Craftsman.

    Val Lloyd was at the parade in 1987, and is joined with her entire family - son Craig, granddaughters Kerrie and Leanne and great-grandchildren Tommy and Grace.

    It may be hours until the bus passes The Wallace pub on Keresley Road but the atmosphere is already building.

    Vuvuzelas are being played and scarfs are being sold.

    A number of fans waiting in anticipation for the bus but some are just coming for a few drinks ahead of the big day like this with the music to come at the War Memorial Park.

    It’s already starting to get busy at the Holyhead pub off Moseley Avenue - I can hear a vuvuzela being played, cars are beeping their horns.

    Robert Clifford, 65, has been selling Cov City merchandise for 50 years.

    Today he’s selling hats, scarfs and flags after arriving at 06:30: “I think it’s going to busy. I have no idea if I have enough stock. We will see. This is a special, special occasion."

    The music festival, We Are Back: Live, will also start from 13:00 at the War Memorial Park, headlined by The Enemy.

    Formed themselves in Coventry, the band's We'll Live and Die in These Towns is sung loud and proud at every home game, timed to reach the crescendo of the chorus seconds before kick-off.

    Also taking to the stage will be Tom Grennan, an avid Sky Blues fan himself, who is due to perform from 15:00 BST.
