I asked Labey how he felt about that result: "There were 900 that didn't vote for me the last time, so 500 people are feeling a little bit more comfortable with me as Connétable - so I think that's a positive."

He added that he was looking forward to taking on another term: "It's been such an honour to do four years for this wonderful parish and it's a great privilege and an honour to do another four, we've got a lot of work to do and we'll get there though, I'm convinced we will achieve our targets."

  15. St Helier and Grouville still to declare senator votespublished at 01:44 BST 8 June

    Ammar Ebrahim
    Jersey political reporter

It’s looking nervy for Reform Party leader Sam Mezec, he is outside the top nine with only St Helier and Grouville to declare.

St Helier is where he would expect to pick up the most votes and it could change the picture of that top nine but it’s going to be a very nervy night for him and Reform Jersey.

Even if Reform Jersey pick up elsewhere losing their leader and most well-known figure would be a huge blow. At the moment the evidence points towards the reintroduction of senators hurting Reform Jersey.
