  2. Fflint Wrecsam is the second last to declarepublished at 18:04 BST 8 May

    Over in Fflint Wrecsam, there were 25,349 votes for Reform, 18,440 votes for Plaid Cymru, 9,017 votes for Conservatives and 8,555 votes for Labour.

    Transport secretary Ken Skates will return to the Senedd after securing Labour's only seat for the constituency, while his colleague Jack Sargeant misses out.

    The Tories' finance spokesperson Sam Rowlands also wins.

    There's just one more constituency left now.

    Heading back now to Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd constituency where Jane Dodds has been speaking.

    The Welsh Lib Dem leader says it is a great honour to be back in the Senedd and "to keep that Liberal Democrat flame alive" - she's the only one from her party to win so far in Wales.

    Reform won three seats here while Plaid Cymru won two.

  4. Plaid to be largest party in Seneddpublished at 17:51 BST 8 May

    It's now clear Plaid Cymru will be the largest party in the Senedd after a historic election that has seen Welsh Labour pushed into third place, behind Reform UK.

    Plaid are ahead of Reform by seven seats, with just one constituency with six spots in the Senedd left to declare,

    Plaid has 39 Members of the Senedd (MSs), versus 32 for Reform.

  5. Winners jubilant in Cardiff constituenciespublished at 17:48 BST 8 May

    The results from the Caerdydd Penarth and Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf - the two Cardiff constituencies - have brought historic results.

    The Greens won one seat - the first time the party has done so in Wales.

    There was a smattering of claps and hugs at the Caerdydd Penarth count with handshakes between seat-winners Anthony Slaughter, leader of Green Party in Wales and Welsh Labour’s Huw Thomas.

    Labour also gathered in a group huddle looking jubilant, all things considered.

    And Plaid Cymru's Anna Heledd Brychan was elected with two other Plaid candidates.

    An updated BBC forecast has Plaid Cymru on between 42-43 seats, and Reform on 34-35.

    It has Labour between eight and nine, the Conservatives between seven and eight, the Greens on two and the Lib Dems on one.

    Plaid Cymru wins 25,076 votes in Gwyr Abertawe, while Reform wins 21,641 votes and Labour wins 11,195 votes.

    Among the winning candidates is Labour's Mike Hedges, who will return to the Senedd - he's been an MS since 2011.

    Swansea councillor Francesca O'Brien will be joining the Welsh Parliament.

    We're nearing the end of declarations now, with just two more constituencies to go.

    Some numbers here from the Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd result.

    Reform win 26,897 votes, Plaid Cymru win 23,276 and the Lib Dems win 9,549 votes.

    It means Reform's James Evans returns to the Senedd, as well as Welsh Lib Dem leader Jane Dodds - currently the only candidate from her party to win a seat.

    Sir Keir Starmer says he has spoken to Eluned Morgan after her historic election which has seen the Welsh Labour leader lose her seat in Ceredigion Penfro.

    In a statement the prime minister says: "Eluned Morgan has been a formidable first minister and tireless champion for Wales.

    "She broke barriers and has never stopped fighting for families in the communities she loves.

    "Together, we have worked to lift children out of poverty, cut hospital waiting lists, and create thousands of new jobs."

    He thanks Morgan for her "over 30 years of service" to the country and to Labour, and adds: "I have no doubt her contribution to Wales will endure."

    More from Eluned Morgan's speech after her defeat, as she argues Labour needs to go back to being the "party of the working class".

    "It is clear that results across the whole of the United Kingdom have demonstrated deep frustration with the Labour Party," she says.

    "We need the Labour government nationally to change course. We need the wealth of this nation to be more equally distributed away from the south east.

    "But I was always clear that this election was about Wales and Keir Starmer was not on the ballot."

    The results are in for Clwyd, where Reform win 25,741 votes, Plaid Cymru win 22,583 votes and the Conservatives win 16,193.

    This means leader of the Welsh Tories in the Senedd Darren Millar will return to parliament.

    Eluned Morgan says she is "stepping down as leader of Welsh Labour" in a speech after losing her seat.

    Morgan says she takes responsibility for the Labour result in Wales, and that the people of Wales "rejected Welsh Labour".

    She says that being first minister has been the "privilege of my life" and as the first woman to lead the nation.

  17. History made as Morgan loses seatpublished at 17:06 BST 8 May

    Eluned Morgan becomes the first leader of a government in the UK to lose their seat while in office.

    This election was historic enough without the defeat of the Welsh first minister in Ceredigion Penfro.

    The Senedd vote also ends a century-long run of Labour election successes in Wales.

  18. Plaid unlikely to get majority, Curtice sayspublished at 17:04 BST 8 May

    Polling expert John Curtice says while Plaid are forecasted to win the most seats, it's "unlikely they will get an overall majority" of 49.

    "Though they may not be that far away from it," he says.

    Curtice anticipates Plaid will win between 41 and 46 seats and Reform will win 32 to 34.

    Over to Ceredigion Penfro where Plaid Cymru wins 31,943 votes, Reform win 23,003 votes, Conservatives win 14,789 votes and Labour wins 6,495 votes.

    It means a huge loss for Eluned Morgan, while former Welsh Tory Senedd leader Paul Davies returns to the Senedd.

    The results are in for Caerydydd Ffynnon Taf and Plaid Cymru win 32,617 votes, Reform win 17,335 votes, Labour win 11,261 votes and the Green Party win 9,036 votes.

    This gives the Greens their second seat of the day.
