ADMIRAL LORD COLLINGWOOD
 The Royal Grammar School
Collingwood's family were not wealthy but they did send him to the Royal Grammar School, then on Neville Street. Cuthbert attended the school from age eight to 12 when he left to join the navy. The school day ran from 7am-6pm. The Head Master, the Reverend Hugh Moises, was a forward thinking educationalist. The photo above shows the only remant of the school today - a stone pillar.
