Well she may have had to re-start her George Michael cover but most of you didn't seem to mind.

In fact, for some, it was just too much to take.

  2. Adele performs George Michael tributepublished at 02:50 GMT 13 February 2017

    AdeleImage source, Getty Images

Adele is back on the stage, performing a new, haunting arrangement of George Michael's Fastlove - in tribute to the star, who died on Christmas Day.

Introducing the performance, James Corden said: "George was an artist like no other. A true original. One of the finest male vocalists of his generation.

"In times of joy and sorrow, his music was a partner and friend.

"I know that if he's here tonight, looking down on us, he would smile and be so proud that this artist is performing this song."

  4. WINNER: Best Urban Contemporary Album - Beyonce - Lemonadepublished at 02:38 GMT 13 February 2017

    BeyonceImage source, AP

After a dazzling performance a pregnant Beyonce received the award for best Urban Contemporary Album for her visual record Lemonade.

She beat Gallant, KING  Anderson .Paak and Rihanna to the award.

"Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to capture profundity of deep southern culture," said the star, talking about her album - which references black, feminist politics and her experiences growing up in Houston, Texas, as well as her own relationship struggles.

"We all experience pain and loss - and often we become inaudible. My intention for the film and album was to create a body of work that would give a voice to our pain, our struggles, our darkness, our history.  To confront issues that make us uncomfortable.

"It's important to me to show images to my children that reflect their beauty so that they can grow up in a world where they look in the mirror - first to their own families, as well as the news, the Super Bowl, the Olympics and the Grammys - and have no doubt that they are beautiful, intelligent and capable.

"I feel it's vital we learn from the past and recognise our tendencies to repeat our mistakes."

  5. Katy Perry performs behind a picket fencepublished at 02:36 GMT 13 February 2017

    Katy PerryImage source, Getty Images

Earlier tonight, pop star Katy Perry said her new music was "a little bit more [socially]-conscious" than before.

She just proved it with her performance of the new single Chained To The Rhythm. Referencing a lyric about being "trapped in our white picket fence", she began the performance slightly obscured behind - yes - a white picket fence.

But then the stage began to revolve and Katy's suburban home was engulfed by fire and hurricanes, before everyone came together for a "we're all in this together" choral finish.

  6. Bruno Mars performs That's What I Likepublished at 02:23 GMT 13 February 2017

When Bruno Mars appeared in a tracksuit, we assumed he was about to launch into one of his more athletic performances.

    Sadly, no.

He's playing That's What I Like - a boudoir ballad in which he asks "can I break it down to talk to the ladies?"

The "ladies" seemed quite into it, mind you, so what do we know?

  7. WINNER: Best country solo performance - Maren Morrispublished at 02:17 GMT 13 February 2017

Country singer Maren Morris has just won the award for best country solo performance for My Church.

A nervous-sounding Maren mentioned that she'd been to the first ever "Grammy camp" 11 years ago. For those who don't know, that's like a summer camp teaching amateur musicians all about the industry and helping them make contacts.

Sounds like it's a pretty good deal.

Maren's win came a matter of minutes after she Tweeted her enjoyment of Beyonce's performance.

  8. Beyonce's performance references the resurrectionpublished at 02:11 GMT 13 February 2017

    BeyonceImage source, Reuters

Beyonce is performing Love Drought from her nine-times Grammy-nominated album Lemonade.

The performance begins with an extended spoken word section from the album that (everyone assumes) references a crisis in her relationship with Jay Z.

"Why are you afraid of love? You think it's not possible for someone like you. But you are the love of my life."

    Deep stuff.

The performance is laden with imagery. The singer, heavily pregnant with twins, is wearing a gold sequinned dress and a crown of thorns; while sitting at a table big enough for two last suppers.

She's literally referencing the resurrection - because, with new life growing inside her, her marriage has been saved. The song she then segues into, Sandcastles, is the emotional centrepiece of Lemonade: The moment she begins to rebuild after her betrayal.

It's quite breathtaking. Although does anyone else think she's taking herself a little bit too seriously?

  9. Beyonce's mum takes a moment to bragpublished at 01:58 GMT 13 February 2017

Introducing Beyonce on stage, her mum Tina Knowles said the following.

    Quote Message

I am blessed to have daughters. Wonderful daughters. All of whom make me proud with everything they do. All Grammy winners tonight, too. Although that's not in the script."

    You go, Tina!

Just in case you're wondering, Beyonce's little sister Solange won best R&B performance for her single Cranes In The Sky.

  13. Ed Sheeran performs Shape Of Youpublished at 01:43 GMT 13 February 2017

    Ed SheeranImage source, Getty Images

It always amazes us when Ed Sheeran gets up on stage and starts laying down loops to sing over... What happens if he gets a chord wrong? What if the equipment goes haywire and starts picking up air traffic control? Why doesn't he just hire a drummer?

Still, you have to admit this performance of Shape Of You is impressive. If you can break a song down to it's core components and have a recognisable, engaging tune, you know you're onto a winner.

Twenty One Pilots didn't seem too Stressed Out on stage though.

They accepted the award for best pop duo/group performance in just their pants.

Singer Tyler Joseph explained that, before they were famous, the band found themselves watching the Grammys in their underwear.

His bandmate Josh Dun turned to him and said: "If we ever receive a Grammy, we should receive it just like this".

    And so they did.

They beat Closer by The Chainsmokers Featuring Halsey, 7 Years by Lukas Graham, Work by Rihanna Featuring Drake and Cheap Thrills by Sia Featuring Sean Paul.

Well Chance the Rapper may have beaten dance act The Chainsmokers to the best new act award...but he can't take away their earlier award for best dance single for their hit Don't Let Me Down.

"It's unbelievable," said Alex Pall. "We found out on the way over here with our moms and all our friends. It's an incredible way to start the night."

The band have had an incredible year, with their Halsey collaboration Closer one of the biggest breakout singles of 2016.

"There's no secret to it," said Drew Taggart. "We're just being ourselves."
