Chris Eubank makes citizen's arrest
Chris Eubank held on to the man until police arrived
Former boxing champion Chris Eubank seized a man wanted by police in connection with a fraud.
The former world champion was eating at the Hilton Hotel in central London when he spotted the man early on Thursday morning. Mr Eubank, 36, recognised him because a friend of his had been the victim of the alleged fraud. He called police at 0020 BST on Thursday, grappled with the man and held on to him until officers arrived. Fraud allegation A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "The 36-year-old man who detained the suspect had been out for a meal at Trader Vics restaurant in the hotel. "He recognised the suspect leaving the restaurant as being wanted by police in connection with a fraud in which his friend had been the victim. "The 36-year-old member of the public detained the man and contacted police." The original allegation of fraud was made last February the spokesman said. The 46-year-old man was arrested and later bailed to return to a London police station in September.
