New campaign targets non-voters
A £35,000 advertising campaign is urging people to register and vote in this years elections.

As many as 20,000 islanders, particularly young people and newcomers, are currently unable to vote because they are not registered.

Signs, posters and stickers in English and Portuguese will be put up at various places around the island.

There is also a website with information about how to register and vote which is in Polish as well.

Deputy Roy Le Herissier, the President of the Privileges and Procedures says it is important to encourage people to use their vote.

A mobile studio, staffed by volunteers, will also be at different events over the coming months. A Jersey politician has announced he is stepping down.
