WICKETpublished at 16:40 BST 17 July

    Villiers b Tulloch 25 (Hampshire Hawks 129 v Durham 56-2)

Another down! Mady Villiers is cleaned up by Poppy Tulloch, whose sneaks the ball through the gate with her second ball. There was a bit of movement and the ball nipped back in and caught Villiers off guard.

That could yet be an important dismissal.

  2. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Hampshire Hawks 129 v Durham 55-1

That was an encouraging over for Hampshire. Naomi Dattani has made the long-awaited breakthrough by removing Durham captain Hollie Armitage and only three runs came from the over otherwise.

Heather Graham has joined Mady Villiers (25 not out) out in the middle. Durham still need a little over six runs an over.

    Hampshire have made that breakthrough.

They've been gritty in trying to get that wicket and desperate for it.

    Armitage b Dattani 23 (Hampshire Hawks 129 v Durham 52-1)

That is timely for Hampshire. Hollie Armitage goes again to ramp, but this time misses and, therefore, bowler Naomi Dattani hits. The ball clatters into leg stump and the Hawks have a breakthrough.

Amanda-Jade Wellington's first over, the first outside of the powerplay, is milked for just four runs as the Durham openers rotate the strike. It is an over which also brings up Durham's 50, and Mady Villiers and Hollie Armitage are going along at the moment with minimal fuss.

    Hampshire 129 v Durham 48-0

It is in Georgia Adams' first over that Durham's first maximum arrives, from the bat of Mady Villiers.

It is lifted high and, for a moment, has Ella McCaughan interested, but both fielder and ball land on the other side of the rope.

Villiers follows it up with four more. Durham are cruising here.

    Hampshire 129 v Durham 35-0

Bex Tyson is brought back into the attack with Hampshire in dire need of wickets to have any chance of defending 130.

The first couple of balls are dots, but Hants can't truly stem the flow of runs. Mady Villiers announces herself at the crease with a terrific shot through square leg, coming right across her stumps to sweep aggressively and it brings four more.

  9. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Hampshire 129 v Durham 28-0

This is another fruitful over in the powerplay for Durham, who need a tad over a run a ball.

Having kept the strike with that tight single, Hollie Armitage then finds another boundary with a thick outside edge off the first ball of Daisy Gibb's second over.

There are more extras and then another bludgeoned four, straight back down the ground from the bat of the Durham captain.

Thirteen runs come from the over and Durham are in a good place early doors.

It feels as though Durham have done their homework regarding Naomi Dattani. Those full deliveries - getting your body position in the right place is the way to go.

Durham are going along swimmingly here.

    Hampshire 129 v Durham 15-0

Durham's innings has lift-off. Inventive lift over the shoulder by captain Hollie Armitage with Naomi Dattani's second delivery of her over. Another couple of dot balls follow and then Armitage repeats the feat to great effect.

There is then a tight single taken which ran the risk of a run out but Mady Villiers' bat was indeed grounded in time after a direct hit.

  12. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Hampshire 129 v Durham 6-0

Only another four runs coming from Daisy Gibb's first over. One leg bye, one wide, a couple of singles...Hampshire will be heartened by the start their bowling unit has made to this defence of 130.

I don't think actually that 130 is a gimmie. I'm calling it early.

Low key start to the chase made by Durham, whose openers Mady Villiers and Hollie Armitage get off the mark at either end by rotating. Tight start from Bex Tyson with the ball.

  15. 'We couldn't adapt to the conditions'published at 16:05 BST 17 July

The Blaze beat Surrey by six wickets

Surrey coach Johann Myburgh, speaking after the semi-final defeat to the Blaze:

“Looking at the wicket this morning, we knew it wasn’t a typical Oval wicket. We felt it was going to be a little slow, which seemed to be the case.

“I thought we had a really strong powerplay, which got us into a decent position. But on a slower wicket that middle period is a crucial part of the game and unfortunately we couldn’t get enough meaningful partnerships and adapt to the conditions quickly enough to get a score.

“If we’d got anything between 130 and 150, we’ve shown in the recent past that it’s something we could have defended and we’d have been confident of defending it.

“Credit to the (bowling) unit, even with a below par score I felt they made it as difficult as possible for them to chase that, which probably reiterates the point that maybe even 125 is something we could potentially have defended.”

Interesting to see Lauren Filer talking about the pace of the pitch.

She's not the only one to have mentioned it this afternoon...

  17. 'Change of pace worked well'published at 16:01 BST 17 July

    Hampshire Hawks 129-8 v Durham

    Hampshire Hawks

Durham bowler Lauren Filer speaking to Sky Sports:

"It's so nice, every time I come back to Durham, I love how they give me the sort of responsibility I really like.

"Just good to get out there with the girls, especially at the Oval, it's really lovely here.

"It's probably not as quick and bouncy as a normal Oval pitch but the change of pace is probably really effective, especially for our seamers.

"I think that was the message as soon as we got the first couple of wickets, the change of pace and being slightly fuller than usual."

A boundary for the first time in five overs for Hampshire who end their innings with a decent over.

It's wide outside off stump from Heather Graham and Naomi Dattani swipes hard, slicing behind square for four.

Dattani then smashes down the ground but Grace Thompson does brilliantly to prevent the four with an outstretched arm at long-off and the Hawks pick up two instead.

Three more singles follow as Hampshire pick up 11 from the over to set a target of 130.

    Tulloch c Filer b Turner 7 (Hampshire Hawks 118-8 v Durham)

This is another great over for Durham.

That's now four overs since the last boundary for Hampshire in an innings that's never really got going.

And now the Hawks lose another wicket with that build up of pressure as Poppy Tulloch skies it to Lauren Filer at mid-off from the bowling of Sophia Turner.

Durham have kept the pressure on. Hampshire have lost wickets on a regular basis. Nobody has got in. There have been no partnerships. There has been no rhythm to the innings. It all looks like hard work.

You have to put that down to Durham, who have just bowled straight on the whole, and have watched Hampshire contribute to their own downfall.
