Muslims from Cardiff discuss the effects on their everyday lives following the terrorist attacks in London in July 2005 ( '7/7' as they came to be called). They condemn the atrocities carried out in the name of their faith.

Notes : DISCUSSION - Do pupils see media reaction to the events in London as reasonable? Why? FURTHER WORK- Investigate how many Muslims live in Wales What percentage is this? • Find examples of racism or islamophobia in your local paper. Discuss these examples in class. • Look for evidence for the status of different ethnic groupings ; eg whcih groups are more successful in education? What are the employment statistcis of different ethnic groups in society? REVISION How does institutional racism affect the lives of some ethnic minoroties? • What are the main explanations for ethnic inequalities? • Note 2 lifestyle areas where there is evidence of ethnic inequalities. Refer to the evidence from both areas.
