Dot thinks that she's had a message from God when she finds a baby in a church.

Eastenders long term character, Dot Cotton,is praying, listing those things in her life where she feels that she has been a failure. She refers to her sadness at the death of her best friend and feels that she has failed as a mother. She asks God to give her hope and asks for a sign. The sign comes when she finds a baby in a rural church. Baby Tomos had been left by an asylum seeker.Dot sees this as a sign and takes the baby home with her.
