Emotional worries - Coping with the workload
University or college work can be very different to schoolwork, and there are a vast array of courses on offer. With no teacher pushing you along and lectures taking the place of ‘formal teaching’ it can be difficult to fall behind or just not bother. The lure of the union can easily override the call of the library!
Wherever you are studying, advice and help with work is on offer. For example, time management or extra tuition in particular areas. It’s worth staying on top of your work to avoid cramming when it come to exams. You are at an institution to get a qualification, so it’s worth getting the most for your money and putting the work in. Tutors, counsellors, lecturers can all offer help with work. Talk to someone if you are having problems - the academic registrar or personal tutor could be your first point of call.
