Miners - a hard walk to work.

Reconstruction from 1927 showing coal miners walking to work. The walk was 4 miles - a hard walk for all but fairly typical of the time. The youngest of the group was 14. Commentary mentions the effects of the price of foreign coal on the price of British coal at the time and the consequences for Welsh miners.
