Coal miners hard at work.

1927 reconstruction of coal miners at work on the surface in a south Wales valleys coal mine. Shows some of the tasks. After a hard day's labour, these miners had to undergo a four mile walk from the pit to home. Commentary describes what happened to miners when they were ill or injured and could not go into work.
