1987: Liverpool fans extradited to Belgium

Twenty-five English football fans involved in the Heysel stadium disaster are extradited to Belgium on 9 September 1987.

The tragedy took place before the 1985 European Cup Final between Juventus and Liverpool.

A wall of Heysel stadium had collapsed following a charge by English club supporters towards Juventus fans, leading to the death of 39 people.

Fourteen of the extradited men were found guilty of voluntary manslaughter.
