1972: The first official Lionesses
The first official women's international friendly match between Scotland and England took place in November 1972. Before sporting history was made, the BBC joined the England Women's Football Team during training and spoke to the players about what made them want to play the sport.
It was only a year after the FA overturned their ban on women playing football on their grounds, which had been in place since 1921.
The Fanatics: Legs Eleven was originally broadcast on BBC2, 7 December 1972.
