Wallace called out to New Zealand
David Wallace lost out originally to Munster colleague Alan Quinlan
David Wallace was holidaying in America
Lions flanker David Wallace has been called out to join the Ireland squad in New Zealand.

A surprise omission from the original 26-man tour squad, Wallace's emergency call-up is cover for injured duo Alan Quinlan and Eric Miller.

Both Miller and Quinlan were not considered for Saturday's first Test against the All Blacks at Carisbrook Stadium.

Quinlan, who was orgianlly preferred to Wallace, looks to be well on the road to recovery as he did some light jogging on Tuesday morning to test his knee problem.

Miller, however, took no part and will undergo a scan later on Tuesday to determine the full extent of the damage to a bruised arm.

Wallace was summoned from San Francisco where he was on vacation.

He is expected to arrive in Dunedin early Thursday morning, and may feature on the replacements bench which has yet to be announced by coach Eddie O'Sullivan.
