Knights held by Bees
The Bees ensured a point in a tight contest
Bracknell Bees marked their last ever southern Superleague derby by holding their nearest rivals London Knights to a 1-1 draw at Amen Corner.
Bracknell, who plan to drop down into the Findus British National League at the end of the season, out-shot the visitors 11-8 in the first period on Thursday night. But the two sides racked up a total of 20 penalty minutes between them in the opening session. London's Dennis Maxwell was the first to pounce, deceiving Bracknell goalie Brian Greer at 31:34 for his sixth ISL goal of the season. After Darren Hurley and Chris Slater were handed game penalties for a fight that spilled over into the sin-bin, David Struch equalised for the Bees with a short-handed strike at 35:49. Overtime failed to break the deadlock, giving Bracknell and London their second draw of the season.
