Guinea made a convincing statement about their Nations Cup ambitions with a 3-0 rout of Liberia on Sunday.

Titi Camara scored in the first minute, cleverly latching onto a pass from Soulayemane Youla.

Maintaining an iron grip on the game, it was no surprise when Foday Camara increased the tally in the 54th minute, after receiving a through pass from Abdoulaye Sylla.

Ibrahim Contè sealed victory for the Syli Nationale seven minutes later, with a thunderous strike that whistled past Liberia goalkeeper Louis Crayton.

The Lone Star had a chance to get on the scoresheet in the 49th minute, when Prince Daye was in direct confrontation with Guinean goalkeeper, Kemoko Camara.

But his powerful shot did not have the desired effect.

The victory in Conakry heralds a remarkable return to international football for Guinea's national team, after serving a two-year suspension by Fifa.
