Sussex keep Moores
Moores had an offer Warwickshire
Sussex coach Peter Moores has decided to stay on at the county and has signed a contract which will keep him at Hove until 2006.
The new four-year deal replaces the two-year contract he agreed at the end of last season and follows rumours linking him with a coaching job at Warwickshire. Moores, who became Sussex coach in 1998 after playing for the county for 14 years, has guided the county to two titles and led the England A tour of the West Indies in 2001. He said: "The Warwickshire interest was very flattering, but having been at Sussex for so long there is a lot of loyalty involved and I'm looking forward to the challenge of trying to get us to the very top. "Since I became coach I think the team and the club as a whole have made great strides."
