Phil Taylor completed a 7-0 whitewash over Peter Manley to win his 13th world title at the PDC World Championship.
The 45-year-old from Stoke blitzed Manley with a series of massive throws, including seven 180s.
Manley tried to stay with Taylor and nailed an impressive 141 checkout and three maximums, but he could not match Taylor's inspirational performance.
It is the third time Taylor has defeated Manley in a world final and the second time by a 7-0 scoreline.
"This is my ultimate dream and if I don't get in another final I don't care," Taylor said.
"I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to win or not because I was worried about Manley.
"He's blown the field on his side of the draw away but I just kept concentrating and played a solid game."
Manley, who walked away with £50,000 in prize money to fund his new house in Carlisle joked: "I think I peaked too early."

The 43-year-old added: I've come second in one of the biggest championships in the world so I'm chuffed to bits.
"The difference between Phil and I is it that he does it time after time and I do it occasionally."
Taylor got straight down to business at the Circus Tavern, taking the opening leg against the throw and hitting a maximum 170 checkout on his way to the set.
Manley won both legs on his throw in the second but Taylor took a two-set lead with an easy double top.
Taylor continued to pile the pressure on Manley, who responded by hitting his first 180 to again level at 2-2.
But the Stoke maestro moved 3-0 up with an easy 25 checkout and Manley's resolve began to fade as he struggled to put together a series of big scores.
Taylor wrapped up the fourth set with a 103 checkout and showed deadly accuracy on the doubles, wrapping up the match on double 12.
