Carlos Garcia Quesada stormed to a solo victory after breaking away on stage 17 of the Tour of Spain.
Quesada broke clear of his fellow climbers on the final ascent of the stage on Wednesday - the arduous Navacerrada climb.
And he maintained that advantage following a fast descent down to La Granja de San Ildefonso.
Roberto Heras still leads by more than four minutes despite finishing off the pace in ninth place.
