Waldner stuns Boll
Jan-Ove Waldner
Swedish table tennis legend Jan-Ove Waldner continued his remarkable return to form with victory over Timo Boll in the men's singles quarter-finals.

The 38-year-old, who struggled for form ahead of Athens, beat the ninth seed 11-7 13-11 6-11 11-7 13-11.

Waldner is a former world champion and won Olympic gold in Barcelona in 1992.

He will meet South Korean world number three Ryu Seung Min, while world number one Wang Liqin faces fellow Chinese Wang Hao in the other semi.

"It's down to three Asian players and me," said Waldner. "Now I'm the European champion."
