Michael Laverty was fourth quickest in qualifying for Sunday's eighth round of the British Superbike Championship at Snetterton, with Leon Haslam on pole.

Jonathan Rea crashed in free practice and will miss the race after being knocked unconscious in the incident.

Eugene Laverty was third fastest in the Supersport class while William Dunlop was 14th in the 125cc class.

In the Superstock category Adrian Coates was second and Ryan Rainey fourth.

Ian Lowry was fifth in qualifying for the Virgin Mobile Cup

Rea hopes to watch the action on Sunday but was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for observation on Saturday.

The Ulster teenager is battered and bruised, and has a slight swelling to the left chest.
