Wrexham settle tax bill
Wrexham have struggled with financial troubles
Wrexham have survived a court winding-up order after settling a problem over unpaid tax.
The Second Division club were due at the High Court in London last Wednesday, but the case has now been dismissed. A club spokesman confirmed there had been a disagreement over a VAT bill, but the problem has now been dealt with. A payment will be made later this week. Wrexham have been battling against the current financial squeeze in the Football League's lower divisions for a while. The collapse of ITV Digital in May and resulting loss of television money forced the club to trim their first-team squad to 25 players. But they have enjoyed a period of relative stability lately, and a recent run of impressive form on the pitch has taken them to within two points of the play-off places. Wrexham's next game is away to third-placed Oxford on Tuesday.
