Battersby looking to impress
Former Lincoln striker Tony Battersby
Battersby will initially play for nothing
On-loan forward Tony Battersby is hoping his spell with Rushden can help get his career back on track.

The former Lincoln City and Boston striker played in the 2-2 draw against Darlington on Tuesday.

And the 27-year-old hopes he did enough to persuade boss Brian Talbot to grant him a deal until the end of the season.

"Hopefully the gaffer will offer me a contract to the end of the season," he told the club's website.

"I only signed non-contract forms for the weekend and played for nothing.

"It just shows that football is more important to me than money. I want to get my career back on the right road."
