Bobby Robson rolled back the years to ensure Newcastle were genuine title challengers for much of the season. He had to settle for a Champions League place - and a knighthood - but may struggle to repeat the trick this time with the added distraction of European football. Much could depend on the fitness of Kieron Dyer and Laurent Robert.
