Everton increased the pressure on Leeds United and chairman Peter Ridsdale as they cruised to victory at Goodison Park.

Leeds fans staged angry protests against Ridsdale as manager Terry Venables considers his future following the controversial £9m sale of Jonathan Woodgate to Newcastle United.

And Everton, chasing a Uefa Cup spot, were in no mood to offer sympathy as second half goals from David Unsworth's penalty and Tomasz Radzinski gave them their third successive victory.

Leeds supporters were not slow to make their feelings known about chairman Ridsdale and the Elland Road board before the kick-off.

But their discontent was not reflected in the performance of Venables' side, who produced a battling display in the opening half.

Steve Watson - whose double gave Everton victory at Bolton - almost put Everton ahead before the disgruntled Leeds fans were given on the field action to concentrate on.

Harry Kewell ran 50 yards to connect with a Jason Wilcox shot, but his effort struck Unsworth.

Watson was almost on target with a trademark overhead kick after 21 minutes, but it was clutched at the near post by Paul Robinson.

The pace of Radzinski was troubling Leeds, but he dragged a shot wide early in the second half from a good position.

Leeds had more than held their own, with Kewell a dangerous presence, but Everton went ahead from the penalty spot after 56 minutes.

Radzinski went down under challenge from Danny Mills as they chased a 50-yard ball out of defence from Alan Stubbs, and Unsworth calmly stroked the penalty past Robinson.

The Canadian was on target himself 12 minutes later to leave Leeds deep in trouble.

China international midfield man Li Tie was the creator with an astute through ball, which allowed Radzinski to demonstrate his pace again before beating Robinson.

Everton coasted to the final whistle to continue their superb season under Moyes.
