Mainly a one-day all-rounder, Rahman's two appearances in Tests so far have shown up his suspect credentials.
A nagging medium-pacer in the shorter form of the game, he lacks wicket-taking bite when runs are not at a premium for opponents.
He can also be rash in shot selection, resulting in just 10 runs in four Test innings, all against Zimbabwe in 2001.
