Alpine Skiing - Men's Team Combined

Switzerland's Marco Odermatt has just taken to the downhill slope and has skied his team into first position with a rapid time of one minute 52.08 seconds.

That's 0.99 of a second faster than Austria's Daniel Hemetsberger in second.

I know that doesn't sound like a big gap, but the commentator said it equates to about 30m ....

Alpine Skiing - Men's Team Combined

Switzerland are able to mix their teams up because they posses enough talent to field multiple medal-winning teams in this event.

Marco Odermatt, Franjo von Allmen and Alexis Monney are all major winners in speed events, while Loic Meillard and Daniel Yule are both world-class slalom skiers.

Von Allmen won downhill gold on Saturday and will no doubt have his eye on another podium position.

Interestingly, Franjo von Allmen and Loic Meillard are not paired together for today's event.

Von Allmen is competing with Tanguy Nef and Meillard is alongside Marco Odermatt.

Alpine Skiing - Men's Team Combined

You probably won't have heard of alpine skiing men's team combined before and that is because this is the first time the event has been included at a Winter Olympics.

The alpine combined event sees two athletes representing the same country race in one discipline each - downhill and slalom. The final ranking is determined by adding the times from both races.

The event starts with downhill this morning, before those competing in the slalom take to the slope this afternoon.

I've done my homework you'll be pleased to know, so let's have a look at what it is and who we should be keeping an eye out for ...

  8. Muir going for Team GB's first medalpublished at 09:27 GMT 9 February

Freestyle Skiing - Women's Freeski Slopestyle

I wonder how Kirsty Muir is feeling this morning. She has the chance to win Team GB's first medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Can she get her hands on gold, silver or bronze in the women's freeski slopestyle final?

Muir qualified with the third-best score, so a medal is definitely on the cards for the 21-year-old. Can she handle the pressure?

    Fingers crossed!
