  1. Klaebo's clean sweeppublished at 11:46 GMT 23 February

You're not wrong, John. Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo is a phenomenon.

The Norwegian cross-country skier already had five Olympic gold medals before Milan-Cortina... he leaves with 11 after a remarkable clean sweep.

Six cross-country skiing medals available to him, six gold medals won - unsurprisingly making him the first athlete to achieve that feat.

Klaebo breaks the previous record of five golds from a single Games, held by American speed skater Eric Heiden since the Lake Placid Olympics of 1980.

Good performance by GB although my sports are Langlauf (cross country skiing) and Biathlon. Klaebo making history with 6 golds after a clean sweep in World's last year was awesome.

  3. 'We were screaming at the telly'published at 11:38 GMT 23 February

Double Winter Olympic champion Matt Weston's brother Ed also told the BBC on where he was when his sibling won gold: "We were watching from home because of my youngest son but we were jumping off of the sofa, screaming at the telly. It was just absolutely incredible.

"It would have been lovely to be there but we were part of the barmy army but at home, it was fantastic."

And Ed added on showing his children his brother's achievements: "I mean it is amazing. He recognised uncle Matt on the telly. He was jumping and shouting. He ight follow in Matt's footsteps, who knows?"

He was also asked how confident he was Weston and Tabby Stoeker could bring back the team gold: "I mean they are both immense athletes. All of them from every nation, they are just immense athletes.

"But the two of them, Tabby to do an amazing run and Matt carry on the way he was - it is the first time that has been done in Olympic history so the two of them should be immensely proud of themselves. Friends and family here, we are all immensely proud. It was fantastic."

Thoroughly enjoyed the BBC coverage, the drama and the success of it all. A special shout out to all your commentators, especially Tim Warwood and Ed Leigh. Their commentary on the snowboarding and slopestyle disciplines has been second to none. Informative, detailed and they made it great fun to watch.

    Lee

Massive shoutout to the comms team this year has really made the events more special. In particular Ed and Tim have been a massive highlight in both making the ski/snowboard disciplines easy to understand but the passion really came across and made those events a-bit more special.

    Lloyd

All the freestyle sky events were fantastic and the two commentators were the best.

  6. 'He loves that adrenaline rush'published at 11:29 GMT 23 February

Double Winter Olympic champion Matt Weston's brother Ed has told the BBC: "Just immensely proud, what an achievement. Not only just to go to the Olympics but to win gold twice is an unbelievable achievement. Couldn't be prouder of him.

"He made [the switch to skeleton] about eight years ago through a talent ID. Just the most crazy sport you can do, he is like 'yeah let's through myself head first down it'.

"Funnily enough that is now what he does. He throws himself head first down a slope, going as fast as 80-90mph and he loves that adrenaline rush. Anything to do with that he is all for it."

Norwegian biathlete hopes 'not to make anything worse' for girlfriend after cheating

Norway's Sturla Holm Laegreid won bronze in the 20km individual biathlon - and then confessed live on TV to cheating on his girlfriend.

He admitted he had an affair three months ago and called it "my biggest mistake", adding it had been "the worst week of my life" since he told his girlfriend of six months about the affair.

"I had the gold medal in life," he said.

The following day, his ex-girlfriend, writing anonymously in Norwegian newspaper VG, said she "did not choose to be put in this position".

She wrote: "It's hard to forgive. Even after a declaration of love in front of the whole world.

"We have been in contact and he is aware of my feelings about this."

Such a brilliant Games - every sport and athlete was incredible! Aside from anything GB, my fave night was the men's freeski big air. Out of 600 possible points, the top three dropped just 20 between them! We were screaming at the dinner table after every run. Goosebumps!

'That didn't just happen!' - Johnson's Daley delight leads to medal mishap

It happened at Paris 2024 and it happened again at Milan-Cortina 2026 - breaking medals.

Early in the Games, two of the USA's gold medallists, Breezy Johnson and Alysa Liu, revealed the ribbon had come away from their medals soon after they received their prize.

Johnson's broke while she was being interviewed by BBC Sport and speaking at a news conference afterwards, she said: "So there's the medal. And there's the ribbon.

"And here's the little piece that is supposed to go into the ribbon to hold the medal, and yeah, it came apart."

Andrea Francisi, Milan-Cortina 2026 chief Games operations officer, said: "We are going to pay maximum attention to the medals. Obviously this is something we want to be perfect when the medal is handed over because this is one of the most important moments for the athletes."
