The 2024 champions are halfway there to another title.

In a set that doesn't produce a single break point, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten get the job done in the tie-break, winning it 7-4.

  2. 'Tough because of the delay'published at 13:57 BST 11 July

    Todd Woodbridge
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC One

It was always going to be tough [for Heliovaara] because of the small delay. And he is the server who is more likely to be thinking about what has just happened.

  3. Postpublished at 13:57 BST 11 July

A double fault from Heliovaara, but Patten then fires a voilley at the net and that is 6-3, three set points for Heliovaara and Patten.

It's not quite as hot as it has been over recent days, but it's still very toasty - especially for those sat in the direct sunshine on Centre Court.

We have a brief pause in play as a spectator who has taken unwell is assisted out to warm applause from the crowd.

A double fault from the Arevalo/Pavic duo gives Heliovaara and Patten a 5-2 advantage, needing only two more points, before a brief pause in play as a spectator needs medical attention.

An ace from Henry Patten makes it 4-1, three points away from the first set.

    Chris Bradnam
    Commentator on BBC One

This match hasn't seen one break point yet. The closest was deuce on Pavic's opening service game, but other than that it has been comfortable holds.

  11. 'Brilliant serving'published at 13:47 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten 6-5 Arevalo/Pavic*

    Harry Poole

It's been brilliant serving by both teams so far. If they're going to keep this up, you can't see this match being decided by anything other than two, if not three, tie-breaks.

There are plenty of 'oohs' from the crowd as both teams continue to fire in winners - and also whenever they go quite close to accidentally hitting their opponents as they end up in close quarters at the net.

You wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of one of those overheads the way these guys are hitting, that's for sure.

    Heliovaara/Patten 6-5 Arevalo/Pavic*

A cushioned volley at the net from Harri Heliovaara seals a hold to love off Henry Patten's serve. Marcelo Arevalo has already held his serve to keep the set going, now Mate Pavic has to do the same.

  13. 'Hitting his spots'published at 13:45 BST 11 July

    *Heliovaara/Patten 5-5 Arevalo/Pavic

    Todd Woodbridge
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC One

He has got a better rhythm on his serve today [Henry Patten]. Good ball toss and really hitting his spots.

  14. Postpublished at 13:45 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten* 5-5 Arevalo/Pavic

No joy from Heliovaara and Patten as their opponents hold their serve when needed. A fist pump from Arevalo and Pavic and the first set continues. Looks like we'll be heading to a tie-break.

  15. Postpublished at 13:41 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten 5-4 *Arevalo/Pavic

A hold to 15 from Heliovaara, sealing the job with an ace. The cameras have already spotted a few famous faces in the crowd, including television presenter Davina McCall and film actress Jodie Foster.

Not been close to a break of serve yet, but if Heliovaara and Patten can take out Arevalo's serve next up then the first set is theirs.

  16. Postpublished at 13:37 BST 11 July

    *Heliovaara/Patten 4-4 Arevalo/Pavic

Heliovaara and Patten take the opening point of the eighth game, but they can't build on that as left-hander Mate Pavic produces two superb outswinging swerves for aces down the middle.

  17. Postpublished at 13:34 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten 4-3 Arevalo/Pavic*

As John says, not a hint of a break point yet, and the seventh game follows the same pattern with Henry Patten holding to love. It is a hot, hot afternoon and a cloudless sky. Both Patten and Harri Heliovaara instantly put ice towels on around their necks in an attempt to keep cool at the changeover.

  18. 'Hard to see where the breaks are going to come from'published at 13:32 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten* 3-3 Arevalo/Pavic

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC One

It is tough to see beyond tie-breaks, really.

You never know with a double fault or a mistake in the wrong moment, but it is hard to see where the breaks are going to come from.

  19. Postpublished at 13:32 BST 11 July

    Heliovaara/Patten* 3-3 Arevalo/Pavic

Halfway through the opening set and still on serve. Mate Pavic produces a double fault in his service game, the first of the match, but that is the only point his pairing concede in the sixth game.

So important you build for the return game. If you can snag the first point it puts the pressure on.
