You can't be focusing on the score. Pick a target and try to get that thing going. Don't expect you have got to serve an ace.

Zverev has lost so many huge five-set matches, you have to think those bad memories are going through his head right now.

Zverev has got to throw caution to the wind now. He can't go down in history as tennis' nearly man.

    Cobolli 1-6 6-4 4-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-1 Zverev*

Alexander Zverev was only taken to four sets twice en route to the final, but Flavio Cobolli benefitted from a semi-final walkover so had three clear days off before today's final.

Who has enough energy left in the tank to see this one home?

Two double faults to start Zverev's service game as he tries to back up the break.

Now the advantage for Alexander Zverev is he has been in a Grand Slam final before.

He has experience of how to handle the fifth set and the occasion. I feel it will help him big time.

A very nervous reaction from Flavio Cobolli. Screaming at his box. The nerves are starting to kick in for him big time.

For the third successive year, the French Open men's final has gone to a deciding fifth set.

The Parisians can't argue they're not getting bang for their buck.

Two years ago, Zverev led by two sets to one against Carlos Alcaraz - and lost.

This year, Zverev led by two sets to one and... well, we'll see.

What a match. This set is literally the biggest of Zverev's career right now! With all the talk if him being the favourite, with Alcaraz missing and Sinner and Djokovic exiting early, I can't see him winning an elusive Slam if this slips by. As for Cobolli, just pure granite.

Remember last year when Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner went almost five and a half hours in an amazing French Open final?

We won't go that long this time, and to be honest the quality is probably a step below what we saw in 2025, but it is no less dramatic.

A special shot at a special moment.

He'd just missed that basic forehand volley, although nothing is basic when the pressure is that great, but to back it up with that forehand down the line - what a shot.

Cobolli clenches his left fist and thumps his heart.

The boy is certainly showing plenty of it - as we see from that drop-shot.

So brave, so bold, so good!

How on earth has he missed that? Flavio Cobolli has the whole court to aim for but he dunks the overhead wide.

Still, he has another set point.
