Murphy 3-6 Selby
Shaun Murphy, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am gutted to have lost. Nobody comes for second place. I suppose a lot of players would have swapped with me. I have had a great week. I could have lost to John Higgins, I should have been on the way home. It was a great match I don't think I did a lot wrong, I thought Mark was superb.
"If I play like that for the rest of the season I will be happy. We both played really well. The difference at this level between winning and losing is almost nothing."

Both players were at the top of their game. There were probably one or two shots that cost Shaun.
But Selby is back to his best. It was a fantastic match.

That was a right momentum stopper. What a break that was. The standard these boys are producing is stellar.
Murphy 3-5 Selby

The pressure is on so he responds with a 72 and then plays a couple of exhibition shots to clear away all the colours up to the black to record a second half century.
Murphy 3-4 Selby
Game on.
Shaun Murphy appears to be in flow. Mark Selby not so much at present. After coming from 4-1 behind against John Higgins in the last 16 could he repeat that feat here?

Shaun Murphy is closing in on a second consecutive frame to reduce his arrears to just one.
Murphy 1-4 Selby

It looked for all money that Shaun Murphy had that frame won. But what's just happened to him, someone please call the police.
Murphy 1-2 Selby
Shaun Murphy misses a red to the top right corner down the rail with the rest and it costs him dearly.
Mark Selby plays a frankly ridiculous shot on the blue to get position on another red with on the side cushion and knocks it in with the fishing tackle before clearing up.
Brilliant steal.

Ken Doherty

Mark Selby looks back to his best. He is the quintessential snooker player. He has all the facets of the game covered.
He is the hardest match-player to ever play the game and I am comparing him to the great Steve Davis and John Higgins as well. Shaun does not want to get involved in that type of game. It is a fascinating encounter.
