"I need to prove this mentally. Now I am just trying to learn from Zhao Xintong and relax. He gave me a lot of advice."

Sensational from Zhou Yuelong. He knocks in a long green and then clears the rest of the colours to claim his first ever win over Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Oh my word.

What drama on the yellow. Ronnie O'Sullivan break over and now leading in the frame gets a huge chance to force a decider but snookers himself behind the green.

Zhou Yuelong can't believe it. He made a mistake there and is let off the hook.

Mark Selby advances and rather comfortably against Lei Peifan.

Zhou Yuelong looks like a man that knows he needs to prepare for a decider.

Will that cost Ronnie O'Sullivan the match? The eight-time UK champion misses the edge when trying to snick off the pack and gives Zhou Yuelong a look at a long red to the top right corner.

He superbly rolls that in and is quickly 40 points in front.

He then hammers a pink into the middle but the white isn't running quickly enough to leave an easy red. Is there a plant on? He is going for it and misses.

"Come on Ronnie" shout the crowd as the Englishman gets a reprieve.

The Tuesday afternoon session was always going to be great tickets to have once the schedule had been sorted.

And those in the York Barbican, on either side of the arena, are definitely getting their money's worth.

Despite making rapid, entertaining breaks of 71, 123, 62, 94 and 65, Ronnie O'Sullivan is still yet to be ahead at the end of a frame. Despite losing three frames on the black, you still would not bet against O'Sullivan turning this one around.

Zhou has never beaten O'Sullivan in seven attempts, can the world number 29 hold his nerve to get over the finish line?

Over on table two Mark Selby is 50-4 up against Lei Peifan and the way the balls are spread isn't particularly helpful to the 22 year-old from China.

Frame over surely. Ronnie O'Sullivan knocks in a long green and is just one frame behind. There is some mileage in this match.

'The Rocket' knocks in the free ball but misses the yellow. Zhou is back to the table but needing two snookers.

Zhou Yuelong elects not to take on a difficult yellow down the left cushion so can't get the job donw at this visit.

However, he can get a snooker which Ronnie O'Sullivan expertly gets out of.

A couple of shots later and the Englishman has his opponent in trouble and Zhou leaves a free ball after getting a swerve all wrong and smashing into the yellow.

Wow. Zhou Yuelong gets a snooker behind the yellow and Ronnie O'Sullivan goes in off.

What drama. Zhou will win if he clears up.

Ronnie O'Sullivan reaches a half century in no time. This is a fabulous response and Zhou needs a snooker when he fails to drop the penultimate red into the bottom right corner.

Zhou Yuelong runs slightly out of position and looks reluctant to take on a difficult red with the rest to the bottom right corner. Who can blame him.

He instead picks out another red to the left corner and knocks it in. But a couple of shots down the line he can't snick another tough one into the same bag and Ronnie O'Sullivan will get another chance.

Not easily pleased Mark. There have been three excellent centuries this afternoon and another eight half centuries across the two matches so far.

Lei Peifan gets another frame back. It feels like he is prolonging the inevitable outcome but if he were to win frame eight, well you just never know.

If Ronnie O'Sullivan loses it'll be his third defeat on the spin.

Can Zhou Yuelong hold his nerve and close this match out?

Zhou Yuelong makes a break of 125 and is one frame away from his first ever victory over Ronnie O'Sullivan, who is in big trouble here.

Ronnie O'Sullivan misses a long red and all of a sudden Zhou Yuelong is at the table with the reds scattered.

What an opportunity this is?

The 27-year-old is yet to win a ranking title but did reach the final of the English Open earlier this season. And he is motoring.

He is close to putting this frame out of reach...and does. Now he's after a century.
