Hello from the Vale Resort, where Steve Tandy is about to name his first summer Wales squad.

The head coach was in charge of Scotland's defence in July but is preparing for fixtures against Barbarians, Fiji, Argentina and South Africa.

The season is not yet over with Cardiff hoping to extend their United Rugby Championship campaign by qualifying for the play-offs while Ospreys, Scarlets and Dragons all finish on Saturday.

Then there is a large England-based contingent plus Montpellier's Adam Beard and Provence's Tomas Francis.

That means Tandy is likely to name an extended squad at 14:00 BST that will be whittled down.

The head coach will then explain his decisions at a press conference scheduled to start at 15:00 BST.
