Wales, under interim boss Matt Sherratt, led 13-10 at the break and then 18-10 but the Irish recovered to win a Triple Crown.

This was how Wales lined up...

Flanker James Botham says Wales are building momentum as the seek a first Six Nations win.

Botham believes Wales are showing signs of progress through each of the opening three games despite their losing run.

Taine Plumtree started impressively against Scotland only to suffer a shoulder injury when making a big carry.

The Scarlets forward has been released from the squad with uncapped Dragons prospect Ryan Woodman called up, although he will not feature in Ireland.

James Botham was very impressive against the Scots - albeit he was caught out by Finn Russell's quick restart for Darcy Graham's try - and the Cardiff flanker is in pole position to start.

He would slot in to make his first Test start since Italy away in round two of last year's tournament.

Wales are sweating on the availability of influential number eight Aaron Wainwright.

One thing we know for sure is that there will be a change at fly-half after Sam Costelow's injury against Scotland.

The Scarlets number 10 suffered an ankle injury and has been ruled out of the trip to Dublin.

It was such a shame for the 25-year-old, who had really impressed on his first start under Steve Tandy, and the latest injury blow after missing the autumn series.

Ospreys playmaker Dan Edwards will be favourite to reclaim the jersey having started all of Tandy's previous six games in charge.

However Jarod Evans will be chomping at the bit having been on the bench last time out.

It's another early start here at Wales' headquarters in the Vale of Glamorgan as Steve Tandy names his team to face Ireland.

We're back to the Six Nations after the one-week break and do we note a hint of optimism in the air?

On the back of a vastly improved performance by Wales against Scotland, we saw Cardiff and Ospreys both claim wins over Irish opposition, Dragons drew and Scarlets came within a score of beating Edinburgh in Scotland.

Now Tandy has the job of selecting his team to face an Ireland side who have hauled themselves back into the title race with that thumping win over England.

Tandy is due to announce his team at 09:00 GMT and we will then get the chance to question his selections at a press conference at 10:30 GMT, which will be streamed live here.

But before that, let's have a look at some of the big calls that need to be made.
