We're still hurting that Meg Jones chose England :-(

There has to be a way of slowing the ball down for Wales.

As soon as there is a transition ball or England have it, the speed that they generate in getting the ball to the backs hands in incredible and it is so difficult to defend.

Watching Meg Jones play she is in phenomenal form but it's the balance of her game.

For me the expressed emotion is one of the joys of women's rugby: the reaction of the England players when David scored her try, plus tears of Kabeya and the fact that she even got a hug from a Welsh player as she left the field. Natural and honest.

    Meg Jones (29 mins)

She had to be involved, didn't she?

England capitalise on another loose Wales pass and Meg Jones collects the ball on the overlap, outpacing her opposite number, and diving over in the corner.

It comes from a Wales overthrow in the lineout and England punish them.

Whenever England have a lineout like that you know it results with a forward crashing over.

Wales are having a great game. England are not quite playing at 100% and are struggling to get the basics of the game together.

That all came from an overthrown lineout from Wales.

Today will be tough enough without handing out gifts like that.

England are back on top! They win a line-out a few metres out and they bulldoze their way over after rustling up a maul.

It's Marlie Packer underneath a pile of players who scores.

Wales are stretching this England defence, and there will be gaps if Wales continue to play at this intensity.

And just like that England flick a switch.

They win possession off a rogue line-out and suddenly Ellie Kildunne finds the angle and bursts forward.

She ships the ball to Marlie Packer who's stopped by Jasmine Joyce making a try-saving tackle.

Wales are enjoying a nice spell of possession. Who saw our game being this even at this point of the first half?

Sadia Kabeya is able to walk off, but she's in tears as she leaves the pitch. That might be a tournament-ending injury.

    Poor Sadia.

You say that Dom, but Ashton Gate has gone quiet. England still have their lead but they suddenly look vulnerable.

Total mismatch of a game. England are fully professional whilst Wales are decades behind. A two tier international competition would benefit both sides.
